CACS Accreditation FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does CACS accreditation last?

Accreditation is valid for a period of three years. Programs must submit renewal documentation and fees prior to the expiration date to maintain active status.

What is the renewal fee for accredited programs?

Programs previously approved for accreditation (20 hours or fewer) pay a renewal fee of $375. Programs exceeding 20 instructional hours pay $500. Renewal fees are due with the submission of renewal documentation.

Can I renew if my program has changed?

Yes. If your program has undergone substantive changes, you must submit an updated attestation form along with your renewal. If no changes have occurred, you may indicate that status on the renewal form.

What documentation is required for initial accreditation?

Initial accreditation requires submission of your curriculum overview, faculty qualifications, assessment methods, and alignment with CACS standards. A detailed checklist is available upon request.

How are instructional hours calculated?

Instructional hours include all structured learning time delivered through lectures, workshops, supervised practice, or online modules. Breaks, self-study, and informal discussion are excluded from the total.

Can I apply for accreditation if my program is still in development?

Yes. Provisional accreditation may be available for programs in development, provided that a full curriculum plan and implementation timeline are submitted. Contact our team for guidance on eligibility.
